Women's Lacrosse Opens America East Action on Saturday

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Hawks begin America East action as they host the Vermont Catamounts on Saturday. First draw is set for 11 a.m. from Al-Marzook Field. 
 
HARTFORD QUICK HITS
  • The Hawks are coming off of a 20-2 victory over Delaware State on Monday
  • Hartford's 18-point win marked the largest margin of victory in program history
  • A program-best four athletes scored hat tricks on Monday, including Megan Miller, Debbie Phillips, Birdie Montes and Emily Steele
  • The Hawks came out on top in every category on Monday, including shots (36), clears (6-6), ground balls (5), draw controls (12) and saves (9)
  • Miller continues to lead the Hawks in every offensive category, registering 22 points on 15 goals and seven assists
 
SCOUTING VERMONT
  • The Catamounts are sitting on a 5-1 record this season, with their lone defeat against Marist in February (15-14, ot)
  • Most recently, Vermont secured victories over Winthrop (15-10) and East Carolina (18-9)
  • Senior Alex Vignona paces the Catamounts' offense with 27 points on six goals and 21 assists

SERIES HISTORY: VERMONT LEADS, 1-0
  • Vermont defeated Hartford, 21-1, during its inaugural season in 2018
  • Montes was the lone Hawk to find the back of the net 
  • Current senior Jenna Janes led the Catamounts' offense with four goals and one assist

The Hawks hit the road for a pair of America East contests, traveling to New Hampshire on Saturday, March 30, before visiting Stony Brook on Wednesday, April 3. Hartford will return to Al-Marzook Field to host UMBC on Saturday, April 6, for an 11 a.m. first draw.
