Box Score ALBANY, N.Y. –Hartford baseball fell in its season finale to UAlbany, 10-2, Saturday afternoon in America East action.
Freshman
Donnie Cohoon and junior
Robert Carmody each registered a RBI, as the Hawks finish the regular season 20-32 overall and 11-13 in conference play. Senior Patrick Lagravinese finished with a game-high three RBI, as the Great Danes improve to 28-11 on the season and 13-9 in the America East.
UALBANY 10 HARTFORD 2
After UAlbany scored one run in the bottom of the first, Hartford responded with two of its own in the top of the season for its first lead of the afternoon. With one out, sophomore
Drew DeMartino doubled to left field and was brought around to score as Cohoon singled to right field, advancing to second on the throw. One batter later Carmody gave the Hawks the lead with a single to center field, plating Cohoon and put the Hartford up 2-1.
The Great Danes, however, took control of the game in the bottom of the fifth, scoring seven runs and riding that wave to the series sweep with the 10-2 victory.
NEWS AND NOTES
- With the loss, Hartford will be the six seed in next week's America East Tournament
- Senior Billy DeVito started the finals game of the season, pitching two innings and allowing one run on three hits and striking out two
- DeMartino finished with the team's only extra base hit, a double in the second inning
