To our Hartford Hawks Family:
With the tragic deaths and shootings of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Jacob Blake, Walter Wallace Jr., and far too many others, we acknowledge that the unjustified use of excessive and sometimes deadly force isÂ
UNACCEPTABLE.
Â
Our heart goes out to the grieving families, members of our Hartford Hawks family, and so many others around the world, who are in pain as a result of these tragedies.
Racism does not have a place in society, and it doesÂ
NOTÂ have a home at the University of Hartford. It is our goal to continue to provide safe and welcoming spaces for all members of the Hartford Hawks family to feel included and heard.
The Athletic Department pledges to continue to listen, engage in dialogue and work to eliminate injustice and inequalities on our campus, and in our community.
We all come from diverse backgrounds, but collectively, we areÂ
HAWKS UNITED AS ONEÂ in fighting racism and injustice.Â
Respectfully,Â
