Harrison and Miller Net Hat Tricks in Defeat to UMass Lowell on Senior Day

Box Score WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Junior Jessica Harrison tallied a team-high five goals while senior Megan Miller netted a hat trick as the Hartford women's lacrosse team fell, 18-10, to UMass Lowell on Senior Day.
 
With the defeat, the Hawks fall to 0-8 (0-8 AE) on the season, while UMass Lowell improves to 4-7 overall and 3-5 in the America East.

UMASS LOWELL 18, HARTFORD 10
The two sides traded goals back and forth in the opening half, as goals from Miller, Harrison, senior Birdie Montes and sophomore Shannon Tuozzo saw the Hawks and River Hawks deadlocked at 5-5 with 5:09 remaining in the opening half. UMass Lowell would use a 3-0 run in the final five minutes of the half to take an 8-5 lead into the break.
 
The River Hawks opened the second half on a 6-0 run, taking an 11-5 lead with 19:55 remaining. Harrison ended the UMass Lowell run with a free position strike, netting her second goal of the day, while Miller cut the lead to five on a player-up opportunity, which marked her third score of the contest. Harrison recorded her third goal with 11:32 remaining in incredible fashion, utilizing a perfect spin move before finding the top right corner to cut the lead to 14-8. Harrison would find the back of the net two more times in the span of 11 seconds to make it a 16-10 game, but the River Hawks would score twice to end the game and take home the 18-10 victory.
