Morrison Elevated to WLAX Head Coach

University of Hartford assistant women's lacrosse coach Elizabeth Morrison has been promoted to the head coaching position, announced Interim Athletic Director David Goldenberg. Morrison is replacing Jen Nardi, who has decided to leave college coaching for a position closer to her New York-based family.

Interim Athletic Director David Goldenberg expressed his enthusiasm for Libby Morrison taking on the role of Head Coach of the women's lacrosse team, saying, "We are fortunate to have someone of Libby Morrison's caliber stepping in. Her experience and leadership within our program make this promotion a great opportunity, and I expect her to further elevate our successful program to new heights.

"We would also like to thank coach Jen Nardi for the work she has done in building the women's lacrosse program. We wish her well on her new endeavor," Goldenberg continued.

In her capacity as an assistant coach last season, Morrison played a pivotal role in helping the Hawks break eleven single-season records, leading to the program's most successful season in its history. In addition to her head coaching duties, Morrison will formally begin to coordinate recruiting efforts for our future field hockey program.

This upcoming season will mark Morrison's third year with the program, having previously worked at Trinity College, where she served as an assistant coach for both the women's lacrosse and field hockey teams for three seasons. During her tenure at Trinity, she was actively involved in the day-to-day operations of both programs, contributing to the development of 11 All-Conference, eight All-Region, and four All-American honorees.

Prior to her collegiate coaching career at Trinity, Morrison was a standout two-sport athlete at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). She played three seasons of field hockey (2015-2017) and was a four-year member of the women's lacrosse team (2015-2018). Morrison graduating as the program's single-season and all-time record holder in ground balls, draw controls, and caused turnovers. She was the anchor of the Division's lowest scoring defense for each of her four years, earning the distinction of being the first and only player in Division III women's lacrosse history to receive four All-American honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA). She led TCNJ to four NCAA Division III Final Four appearances as a player.

With her combined experience as a student-athlete and an assistant coach, Morrison brings a wealth of knowledge and experience at the Division III level.
