Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Hartford women's lacrosse team took down Colby-Sawyer, 20-6, in the second game of its three-game spring break trip on Wednesday. The Hawks remain undefeated at 5-0, while the Chargers dip to 1-2 on the season.
HARTFORD 20, COLBY-SAWYER 6
FIRST HALF
Hartford wasted little time getting the offense rolling, jumping out to a commanding 7-2 lead after the opening frame.
Lenaijah Ferguson and
Courtney Ingham paced the Hawks offense through the first 15 minutes netting a pair of goals each, while
Emily Steele dished out a career-high four assists in the first quarter. Hartford extended its lead to 13-5 after trading goals throughout the second quarter. After the first half, five Hawks had found the back of the net, including
Lily Belle Baker,
Meghan Smith, Steele, Ferguson and Ingham.
SECOND HALF
Coming out of the halftime break, Hartford's defense would shut the door on any hopes of Chargers comeback, as the Hawks held Colby-Sawyer to just one goal in the second half. Hartford would earn the 20-6 victory after outscoring the Chargers 7-1 over the final 30 minutes of action.
