Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Hartford women's lacrosse team continues its outstanding start to the season with a 20-7 victory over Westminster on Friday. The Hawks remain undefeated at 6-0 while the Titans dip to 1-5 on the year.
HARTFORD 20, WESTMINSTER 7
FIRST HALF
Hartford wasted little time getting the offense rolling, scoring three goals within the first two minutes of the contest. Finding the back of the net early in the game was
Lenaijah Ferguson,
Emily Steele, and
Meghan Smith. Both sides would trade goals back-and-forth over the remainder of the opening frame as the Hawks took a 5-4 lead into the second. Five Hawks would combine to outscore Westminster 10-1 in the frame to take a 15-5 lead into the halftime break. Fueling Hartford's run in the second was
Kelly Hoxie,
Lily Belle Baker, Ferguson, Smith and Steele.
SECOND HALF
Hartford came out of the halftime break strong on the defensive end as
Hanna Ramsey and the Hawks defense shutout the Titans in the third quarter. After taking a 19-5 lead into the fourth and final frame, Westminster would attempt to claw its way back outscoring Hartford 2-1 in the final 15 minutes. Despite being outscored in the fourth, Hartford would hold on to earn the victory over the Titans.

- Baker and Smith each tallied hat tricks for the fourth time this season.
