SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Senior Justin Pezzolesi and freshman Maxton McPhee notched a pair of goals as the University of Hartford men's lacrosse team fell to Western New England,15-7, at Golden Bear Stadium.

Pezzolesi scored a goal in the second and fourth periods, while McPhee scored in the third and fourth periods. 

Western New England raced out to a 5-0 lead and never trailed. The Hawks were able to close the gap 9-3 at the half. However, the Golden Bears took control in the third period by scoring four of the six markers.

• Hartford finished with 32 shots, 20 of which were on goal, while Western New England had 48 shots with 36 on goal.

• Hartford finished with four assists on seven goals, while Western New England had 10 assists on 15 goals. 

• Freshman Nicholas Forgione tallied his 17th goal of the season. 

• Sophomore Aidan Kemp tallied his 12th goal of the season. 

•  Mcphee registered his third assist and seventh goal  of the season.

• Pezzolesi registered his 10th goal of the season. 

• Freshman Ethan Hunt registered his 14th goal and 11th assist of the season. 

• Graduate Jake Ojert tallied his ninth assist of the season. 

• Junior Ryan Varano registered his third assist of the season. 

• The Hawks were 17-of-23 in clear attempts, while the Golden Bears were 18-of-18 in clear attempts.

• Faceoff specialists Ben Costanzo and Cameron James combined to win 13-of-26 faceoffs.

• Freshman Christopher Ledwick registered a career-high 21 saves.
