Box Score In a game of runs, it was the University of Hartford men's lacrosse team that had the final say by scoring the final five goals of the game, the last coming in a five-second span, to secure the 18-15 win over Roger Williams Saturday at Al-Marzook Field in Alumni Stadium.
Trailing by a pair of goals with a little less than six minutes remaining, the Hawks went on bender and took control of the game. Freshman Maxton McPhee scored an unassisted goal with 5:44 remaining to stop Roger Williams' three-goal run to take the lead.
Back-to-back goals by junior Griffin Weller, the first assisted by freshman Nicholas Forgione and the second assisted by sophomore Aidan Kemp put the Hawks ahead for good.
Face-off specialist, freshman Ben Constazo, added an insurance goal by winning the face-off and racing to the face of the goal to deposit the game's final tally. It was his first career goal.
The freshman duo of Maxton McPhee and Ethan Hunt scored a career-high in goals to aid Hartford in the victory. Hunt had four goals with one assist, while McPhee found the back of the net two times.
McPhee scored goals in the first, and second periods while adding an assist to Nicholas Forgione to set the tone of the game. Hunt scored a goal in the second period, two goals in the third period and a goal in the fourth period while adding an assist to Weller in the second period.
