Smith Wins Second-Consecutive CNE Offensive Player of the Week Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. – On Monday, the Conference of New England (CNE) announced its weekly report with senior Meghan Smith (Orange, Conn.) being named the women's lacrosse offensive player of the week for the second week in a row. 

Smith continues to be on a tear for the Hawks scoring 10 goals to go with four assists, 14 draw controls and five ground balls. Meghan started the week with five points, five grounders and six draws in a win over FDU - Florham, before adding seven goals and two helpers in a 18-16 victory over Smith College. Smith has registered 30 points so far this season with 21 goals and nine assists and currently leads the CNE in goals. 

The Hawks women's lacrosse team will host Keene State College on Wednesday at 5:00 PM before traveling to Georgia for two games early next week.

Originally founded in 1984 as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), and reconstituted as the Conference of New England (CNE) in 2024, the CNE is an NCAA Division III athletic conference composed of 10 full member and five associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The Conference administers championships in 20 intercollegiate sports.
