WENHAM, Mass. - The Hartford women's outdoor track and field team competed in the Conference of New England Track & Field Championships this weekend both Friday and Saturday. The team had an strong showing to earn them second place out of nine other teams, with a total of 153 points.

- Hartford's 4x100m relay team made up of sophomore Averi McCoy (Bensalem, Pa.), sophomore Caroline Crocker (Bernardston, Mass.), senior Cali Leonard (Boston, Mass.), and freshman Tamara Greene (Hartford, Conn.) earned second place in this event with a time of 51.86 seconds.
- Hartford had a clean sweep in the 100m hurdles taking first, second, third, and fifth place in the event. Leonard took first overall with a time of 15.04 seconds, next was Greene in second place with a time of 15.49 seconds, then Crocker just behind taking third place at 15.57. Sophomore Jordan Murphy (East Hampton, Conn.) took fifth with a time of 15.88 seconds.
- McCoy earned fourth place in the 100m dash at a time of 13.12 seconds. Freshman Gabby Padmore (North Babylon, N.Y.) came in just behind with a time of 13.26 seconds. Leonard closed it out for the Hawks continuing the sweep in sixth place at 13.39.
- Freshman Ella Stephenson (Ledyard, Conn.) took fifth place in the 800 meter with a time of 2:25.30.
- Junior Madison DiPasquale (Wallingford, Conn.) CNE track athlete of the week had a strong performance this weekend taking first place overall in the discus throw event launching a distance of 39.10m. She also claimed second place in the shot put event with a distance of 12.33m. Along with her first two honors she also earned second place in the hammer throw event with a distance of 45.02m.
- Junior Tommie Barker (Canton, Conn.) had a great showing this weekend taking third place in the shot put tossing a distance of 11.68m, Barker also earned third place in the hammer throw with a distance of 41.37m.
- Freshman Weeko Thompson (Hopkinton, R.I.) claimed third place in the discus throw at 33.11m.
- Freshman Kali Trapp (East Hampton, Conn.) gave the team four points as she earned fifth place in the pole vault event clearing a height of 2.35m.
- Crocker jumped in third place in the long jump event with a distance of 4.87m. Murphy was just behind as she took fifth place when jumping a distance of 4.83m.
- Junior Destinee Majett (Brick Township, N.J.) earned fourth place to contribute to the sweep in the hammer throw event with a distance of 40.01m.

"Despite the terrible weather, the team and myself kept a positive mindset," said sophomore Jordan Murphy (East Hampton, Conn.). "By doing this and trusting my training, I had satisfying results. I am pleased with the outcome for both myself and the team."
"I am proud of my performance given the conditions I had to run in," said senior Cali Leonard (Boston, Mass.). "I showed up, I performed, and I did what I had to do. Breaking the facility and meet record shows the hard work I have put in this season."
"On both the men's and women's side today, we came to perform," said junior
Madison DiPasquale (Wallingford, Conn.). "Although unlike other meets, our goal this meet wasn't a school record, PRs, or season bests, it was to score points. And as we scored points, we did all of those things. Everyone came and exceeded expectations and we have the trophies and medals for proof!"Â

After the meet Head Coach for Women's Outdoor Track and Field, Connor Green team shared this, "Our women came out strong and never let up! They shattered expectations and battled to a runner-up finish behind a great Gordon team, fueled by heart, grit, and standout performances on the track and in the field."
