WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - On Tuesday, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District baseball teams were announced with five Hawks featured.
The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® and Academic All-District® Teams program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. To be considered for inclusion on the Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® Baseball Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and must have competed in at least 90 percent of the institution's contests or started in at least 66 percent of those contests.
The five members making the team are sophomore Anthony Bubba (Jefferson, N.J.), junior Ryan Knight (Peabody, Mass.), sophomore JJ Romatzick (Stratford, Conn.), junior Jackson Ciccone (Danbury, Conn.) and graduate student Jake Santiago (Bristol, Conn.).
Bubba ended his sophomore campaign going 5-1 over 13 starts. Anthony ended the year with 62.0 innings allowing 23 earned runs for a ERA of 3.34 with 46 strikeouts.
Knight started 34 games in his junior campaign. Ryan ended the year slashing .320/.410/.574 (AVG/OBP/SLG) with six home runs, 24 RBI, 28 runs scored, 13 doubles and five stolen bases.
Romatzick had a stellar sophomore campaign for Hartford starting 40 games in 2025. He ended the year with a slash line of .385/.443/.485 (AVG/OBP/SLG) with a homer, 36 RBIs, 34 runs scored, 11 stolen bases, 10 doubles and two triples. He was later named to the Conference of New England (CNE) First Team as well as making the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region Second Team.
Ciccone was another staple for the Hawks lineup, appearing in all 40 games as the main man in center field. He ended the year slashing .335/.382/.509 (AVG/OBP/SLG) with five long balls, 36 RBIs, 31 runs scored, 11 doubles and a pair of triples. He was also named to the CNE All-Conference Third team and ABCA All-Region Third Team.
Santiago rounded out the group capping off his career at the University of Hartford. Jake ended the year with a .411/.470/.650 (AVG/OBP/SLG) slash line with nine homers, 35 RBIs, 32 runs scored, 12 doubles and 10 steals. Santiago was a First Team All-Region selection and Second Team All-Conference choice.
