MEDFORD, Mass. - The Hawks women's indoor track and field competed in the Tufts Cupid Challenge this weekend hosted by Tufts University. In this competition three competitors competed in the pentathlon events which is a one-day event featuring the 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800 meter run.

Rapid Recap:

• Junior Jordan Murphy (East Hampton, Conn.) competed in the INVITE meet at this competition as her performance in prior competition qualified her to compete in the higher intensity rounds, she finished at an impressive fifth place with her individual performances. Murphy set the program history for pentathlon 60m hurdle finishing in seventh place with a finish time at 9.44 seconds. Murphy also improved her #2 all-time record in the high jump as she jumped a height of 1.73 meters in this competition. Murphy also earned fourth place in the 800 meter finish with a time of 2:37.07. She also earned 10th overall in the long jump covering a distance of 4.96 meters. Murphy also claimed fifth in the pent shot put with 10.56 meters.
• Freshman Emily Breau (Meriden, Conn.) competed in the pentathlon OPEN to represent Hartford and she finished fourth place overall. Breau earned ninth place all-time score in Hartford program history with her overall pent score today. In the individual pentathlon events, Breau finished in fifth in the 60m hurdles event finishing in 10.10 seconds, then third in the 800 meters at 2:35, earned second in the high jump clearing 1.49 meters in the open round, and finished in third in the long jump clearing a distance of 4.89 meters. 
• Senior Mariah Nichols (Barton, N.Y.) also competed in the OPEN pentathlon event for Hartford earning 16th place overall. Nichols earned 10th place in the shotput event throwing a distance of 8.52 meters.

The Hawks will compete tomorrow, Saturday, February 14th at the NYU Division III Invitational in NYC.
