SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - On Friday and Saturday the University of Hartford women's outdoor track & field team competed in the NCAA Division III New England Championships placing in 4th out of 38 scoring teams.
Rapid Recap:
- Graduate student Kayla Pelletier (Southington, Conn.) took first in the javelin throw event being crowned New England champion hitting 44.58 meters.
- Junior Jordan Murphy (East Hampton, Conn.) is now a two-time New England champion winning the high jump at 1.65 meters and heptathlon with a score of 4627.
- Sophomore Tamara Greene (Hartford, Conn.) claimed second place in the 100 meter hurdles crossing the finish line at 14.41 seconds. Just behind Greene was teammate junior Caroline Crocker (Bernardston, Mass.) placing in fourth with a time of 14.86 seconds.
- Senior Madison DiPasquale (Wallingford, Conn.) earned 4th place in the shot put event launching a distance of 12.25 meters, along with that tally she also earned 6th place in the discus throw clearing a distance of 37.27 meters.
- The 4x100 meter relay took home 8th place with a team time of 48.97. The Hawks to make up the team was freshman Jaya Pichay (South Windsor, Conn.), junior Leslie Samuel (Montauk, N.Y.), freshman Emily Breau (Meriden, Conn.), and Greene.
- Breau finished in 7th place in the 400 meter hurdles event at a time of 1:05.61 to round out the scoring.
