BOSTON – Senior guard
Jalen Ross of the Hartford men's basketball team has been named America East Third Team All-Conference, the organization announced on Monday. It marks the first yearly honor in Ross' career and the 16
th consecutive year that the Hawks have had a player collect all-league recognition.

Ross led the league with his 19.8 points per game overall and finished sixth in scoring in conference contests (17.8). He also ranked fifth in the league in free-throw percentage (.826), fifth in steals (1.3), fifth in three-point field goals per game (2.4), fifth in minutes (34.5) and 15
th in assists (2.1). He earned America East Player of the Week honors on Dec. 19 after scoring 27 points in a win over Dartmouth.

The Greenbelt, Md., native ranks 42
nd nationally in points per game, and is also among the national leaders in free-throws made, placing 18
th with 157. He ranks eighth in Hawks Division I history with his 554 points, a total that ranks 11th across all divisions. His 157 free throws rank fifth in Hawks history, while his .826 free-throw percentage is just outside the top 10.

Undefeated league champion Vermont swept the major awards, with Trae Bell-Haynes earning America East Player of the Year distinction. Head Coach John Becker was a unanimous selection as Coach of the Year, while Anthony Lamb was unanimously chosen as Rookie of the Year. Darren Payen (Sixth Man) and Dre Wills (Defensive) also gathered yearly recognition from the league.

The Hawks will be the No. 6 seed in the America East Championship Tournament, taking on No. 3 seed UAlbany on Wednesday, March 1, in Albany's SEFCU Arena. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 with Rodger Wyland and Jeremy Friel on the call, with tipoff slated for 7:30 p.m. Hartford defeated UAlbany in the 2016 America East Tournament as the league's seventh seed.
