Six Hawks Named to the College Sports Communicators Women’s at Large Academic All-District Team

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - This afternoon, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District women's at large teams were announced with six Hawks from the women's lacrosse team featured. 

The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® and Academic All-District® Teams program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. To be considered for inclusion on the Academic All-District® and Academic All-America® Women's Lacrosse Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and must have competed in at least 90 percent of the institution's contests or started in at least 66 percent of those contests. 

The six members making the list include senior Meghan Smith (Orange, Conn.), junior Samantha Ciaglo (Colchester, Conn), senior Madison Carangelo (Vernon, Conn.), junior Sara Costa (Shrub Oak, N.Y.), junior Courtney Ingham (Bedford, N.H.), and sophomore Talei Ricketson (Centennial, Colo.). 

Smith delivered a standout senior season in the midfield for the Hawks. As captain, she started in all 19 games and scored 73 goals and 22 assists, totaling 100 points on the year. Smith also played a key defensive role, tallying 12 turnovers against the opponents, 34 ground balls, and won a team high 125 draw controls. She was later named to the Conference of New England (CNE) Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Second Team. 

Ciaglo was a reliable presence on defense throughout her junior campaign, appearing in all 19 games. She recorded 21 caused turnovers and collected 44 ground balls. Her consistent performance across the season secured her a place on the CNE Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Second Team.

Carangelo added strength and experience to the defensive unit, playing in all 19 games and starting 17. She registered nine caused turnovers and picked up 13 ground balls providing dependable play throughout the year.

Costa continued to be a force in the midfield during the 2025 season. Starting all 19 games, she tallied 12 goals and three assists for a total of 15 points. Beyond her scoring contributions, Sara excelled in securing possession for the Hawks with 29 draws, 12 caused turnovers, and 34 ground balls.

Ingham provided an important spark in the attacking unit, appearing in 18 games and making six starts. She posted eight goals and 14 assists for 22 total points, while also contributing defensively with six ground balls, and four caused turnovers.

Ricketson emerged as one of the Hawks' top offensive threats this season. The sophomore captain totaled 32 points on 16 goals and 17 assists, finishing with a .750 shots-on-goal percentage. She also contributed on the defensive end, recording 14 ground balls and five caused turnovers.
