Six Hawks Named to IWLCA Academic Honor Roll

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – On Wednesday, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced its 2025 Division III Academic Honor Roll selections with six Hawks featured. To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater. 

The six members of the Hartford women's lacrosse team are junior Courtney Ingham (Bedford, N.H.), junior Sara Costa (Shrub Oak, N.Y.), junior Samantha Ciaglo (Colchester, Conn.), senior Meghan Smith (Orange, Conn.), senior Madison Carangelo (Vernon, Conn.) and junior Kelly Hoxie (Nassau, N.Y.). 

Ingham played in 18 games, starting six during her junior season. She scored eight goals to go with 14 assists for a total of 22 points on the season. Courtney was later named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. 

Costa played in all 19 games in 2025. She had 12 goals and three assists, for a total of 15 points. Defensively, she had 34 ground ball pickups, 12 caused turnovers and 29 draw controls. Sara was later named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All District Team.

Ciaglo played in all 19 games in her junior season for the Hawks. Samantha recorded 21 caused turnovers and 44 ground balls, and four draw controls. Her 44 ground balls has her tied for first as the single-season caused turnovers record holder for the Hawks. She was named to the Conference of New England All-Conference Second Team as well as the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. Samantha currently sits 2nd in program history in caused turnovers (41) and 3rd in ground balls (75).

Smith capped off her senior season for the Hawks at midfield, playing in all 19 games. She finished with 78 goals, adding 22 assists for 100 total points. Defensively, she made her presence known by fielding 34 ground balls, 12 turnovers caused, and 125 draw controls. Smith etched her name in Hawks history by becoming the leader in single season draw controls (125), career draw controls (215), single season goals (78), and career goals (132). She earned a spot on the CNE All-Conference Second Team for her performances this season. Meghan was also the first Hawk to be recognized as a Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Offensive Player of the Week doing so on March 11th. She was also named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. 

Carangelo capped off her senior season for the Hawks at defense, playing in all 19 games, starting 17. Madison contributed to 13 ground balls, nine caused turnovers, and one draw control. She was later named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. 

Hoxie played in 12 games, starting in three during her junior season. Offensively, she recorded nine goals and one assist for 10 points. Defensively, Hoxie added five ground balls and one caused turnover.
